The Roaster:
Perky Blenders was started in 2015 by husband and wife team Adam and Victoria Cozens with a mission to bring specialty coffee to their corner of London, Waltham Forest. This mission turned into wanting to make high-grade speciality coffee more accessible to everyone. Their core value is responsibility, which runs through everything they do and it's clearly a successful formula, today they are one of the most successful coffee roasters in the UK.

Roaster's note:
This winter blend is bursting with vibrant, Christmas flavours. Made up of two origins, we have both natural and washed coffees present. The Brazil coffee is from the Sul de Minas area which proudly boasts a nature reserve that is home to jaguar and wolves. This incredible coffee is characterised by its sweetness and high body with distinctive chocolate notes. The second coffee is from the Rwamatamu farm in Rwanda, which was founded in 2015 with the goal of reducing poverty by creating local job opportunities. The estate has 20 hectares of coffee farmland which sits atop rich volcanic soil. The bean brings mild fruity notes and balanced sweetness.
The Brazilian coffee was sourced through our friends from Kamba Coffee and the Rwandan coffee is sourced through Omwani Coffee - the talented importer bringing to the UK the best of Africa. Both have close relationships with the farmers and communities who grow this coffee
We trust in the quality of this coffee and in the hard job of its producers. Brazil Nutela is produced by the Costa Family, one of our favourite coffee growers in Brazil. We know them personally and admire the commitment of all the family to the quality.
Rwanda Rwamatamu is also a family business that has an impact on its community by the creation of job opportunities in order to reduce poverty in a region where access to basic services such as health and education is difficult for most of the population.
Brewing Tips:
This coffee is suitable for any brew method but particularly for a Moka Pot or French Press and, why not, with a splash of milk? For better results remember to use hot water in the bottom chamber of the Moka Pot and the right grind size. For a French Press to stir the coffee just after pouring the water, will allow a better extraction and more intense flavours. Enjoy this advent calendar coffee!
