Lomond coffee
A Roaster We Trust
Lomond Coffee are based in SE London, roasting with real care and consistency, month after month. This time they've brought us Monte Cristo, a coffee grown on a three-generation family farm in Guatemala.
That kind of long-standing, generational relationship with a single farm is exactly what we look for in the independent UK roasters we feature in our specialty coffee subscription boxes.
Monte Cristo
Grown on a three-generation family farm in Guatemala, this washed medium roast is bold but smooth, sweet and deeply enjoyable. Wet and dry milling on-site means every bean has been handled with care from cherry to cup. Expect rich chocolate up front, a lingering caramel sweetness, and a bright hint of apple to keep things lively. Approachable enough for a morning cafetière or espresso, and interesting enough to savour as a filter – a proper all-rounder from a roastery doing things exactly right.
This is the kind of coffee that works for everyone at the table. A proper all-rounder from a roastery doing things exactly right.
Espresso: 18g in → 36g out · 25 sec extraction · fine grind. Sage 8–10 · De'Longhi 7–9 · Ninja 8–10.
French Press: 30g → 500ml · 4 min · coarse grind.
Coffees like this are exactly why RISE Coffee Box exists. Every month, we blind taste 25-30 coffees from independent specialty coffee roasters across the UK – from London names like Lomond Coffee to standout roasters we've discovered along the way – and choose only the very best to feature in our coffee subscription boxes. If you love discovering new specialty coffee, sustainably sourced and roasted by people who genuinely care about where it comes from, a RISE coffee subscription is the easiest way to explore it all from home.
