How does the RISE Coffee subscription work?

Yes, subscriptions have no minimum commitment, so you can cancel whenever you like directly from your account.

How much coffee do I get in each delivery?

Each box includes two freshly roasted, 100% Arabica specialty coffees from two different independent UK roasters, never repeated, in 227g to 250g bags.

Can I skip or pause a delivery?

Yes you have a 100% fully flexible account and can pause, delay or cancel anytime.

Does decaf coffee taste different from regular coffee?

It can, since the decaffeination process affects the bean's structure slightly before roasting. That said, good specialty decaf from a skilled roaster can taste genuinely close to its caffeinated counterpart, very different from the flat, one-note decaf most people associate with instant coffee.

What's the difference between "decaf" and "caffeine-free"?

Decaf coffee has had most (typically around 97%) of its natural caffeine removed through a process, but a small trace remains. True "caffeine-free" products, like herbal teas, never contained caffeine in the first place.

Does decaf coffee use chemicals to remove the caffeine?

It depends on the method. Some processes use chemical solvents, while others, like the Swiss Water Process or CO2 method, remove caffeine using only water, carbon dioxide or activated carbon, without direct chemical solvent contact with the beans.

Why is good specialty grade decaf hard to find?

Decaffeination is an extra processing step that adds cost and can affect the bean before roasting, so fewer roasters do it well, and it's often treated as an afterthought rather than a focus, which is part of why specialty decaf stands out when it's done properly.
