Artisan Roast has been roasting specialty coffee since 2007 – a long old time. The team are passionate about working directly with farmers for the long term, something we're very supportive of at RISE. With cafes scattered across Edinburgh, we first came across the Artisan Roast team.

Artisan Roast Gicherori, Kenya
If you didn't already know, Kenyan coffee is some of the highest quality coffee in the world, and this coffee is from the village of Gicherori, which sits at the base of the famous Mount Kenya. Here, 1,200 farmers grow a few hundred coffee trees each and wait for the cherries to ripen perfectly before processing them naturally in the sun. This coffee excels as a shorter drink, such as an espresso or long black. However, due to the high quality, it's super versatile, and we'd love to hear what you think of it brewed in various other ways.
