Ian Kissick, founder of Formative Coffee in London, is a standout figure in the world of speciality coffee. Known for his guest-focused approach and years of competition experience, Ian represented Ireland at the 2024 World Barista Championship in Busan, placing 6th in the world after initially being left out of the semi-finals due to an administrative error, later corrected. He also won the 2024 World Espresso Championship, proving his technical excellence under pressure. With support from his coach Maja Jajszczok and partner Nicolas Pastellopoulos, Ian continues to lead both on stage and behind the bar. Formative Coffee, under his leadership, has earned a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and a commitment to hospitality. Notable awards and recognition include:
