Day 19: India – Advent Calendar Reveal
Origin: India
Location: Karnataka, Mysore
Altitude: 1,100 – 1,300 masl
Tasting notes: Toasted nuts, Baileys cream
Why Alice and Ben love it: Indian Mysore coffee is grown in the rolling hills of Karnataka in southern India. This is one of the oldest coffee-growing regions in the world!
Farmers in Mysore often grow coffee alongside pepper and cardamom, adding a hint of spice and complexity to the flavour while helping to protect biodiversity and enrich the soil. Many of these farms have been family-run for generations, blending traditional methods with modern, sustainable practices.
Mysore coffee offers something a little different — the boldness and depth of its body make it stand out, while the subtle spice and earthy tones give it character. We love this one as it has a nutty, cream taste - some say it’s like Baileys cream (we wish!) If you’re used to brighter, fruitier coffees, this one gives you a broader spectrum of what Arabica can be.
We love Mysore coffee for its warmth and depth - it’s bold yet balanced, steeped in history, and a great example of how tradition and care can create a banging coffee!
