Why we loved being featured in RISE Coffee Box

We first met Ben at the Farm Shop and Deli Show, and after immediately removing a
bland cup of coffee from his hand and replacing it with a cup of Two Chimps Coffee,
we were soon invited to be part of our very first RISE coffee box, which would go out
in July 2025.
This seemed like a great time for us to be a part of the box and as you can imagine
this was a great opportunity for Two Chimps to reach out further across the UK. After
trying lots of different coffees and lots of deliberation we chose a smooth and creamy
single origin medium roast from Guatemala, which was called Santa Rosa. They also
featured our 25g bags of hot chocolate flakes in the first box and we found that the
coffee and hot chocolate pairing was a great combination.

At the time of having those conversations about becoming part of the RISE coffee
box we were well aware of them from the specialty coffee scene and they’re a
great way for people to find out about different coffees and different roasteries.

From our side it was nice to see how the team at RISE work. We were very relieved
to see that there were a lot of similarities in terms of personalities and the small team
involved which made us very confident that it would be a successful partnership.
From our side we thought things must have gone very well as we received a lot of
social media coverage and shout-outs, along with messages saying how nice it was
to finally see Two Chimps Coffee in the subscription box, which was fantastic for us.
Well we must have done something right, as we soon received another message!
Back in October 2025, Ben messaged us to say that, from their side, things had
gone really well and asked us to do it again!

This time around the brief was to supply our very best Christmassy coffee complete
with natural and typical festive flavours. The RISE team came in and helped us cup
the coffee and pick the name and design of the label so they were fully behind the
product, too, and we had a hand-picked by Ben and Alice sticker on each of the
bags.

We picked and settled on Better Than Socks which was a medium roast from
Shikankoni Hill in Burundi and featured taste notes of treacle, apricots and cherries.
We got some more fantastic feedback from people who tried the coffee and the
orders exceeded the initial estimations which is amazing for both RISE and
ourselves!

From a business perspective it was an incredible opportunity for us to get in front of
new audiences who love trying different coffees but are also used to having a
subscription. As a business that offers a different type of coffee subscription it was
interesting to see how things went with people who explore coffees a bit more and
might not sign up for a subscription with us, but may order on a one-off basis from us
because they particularly liked what we provided in their box.

RISE allow small roasteries to get in front of people who they might not ordinarily be
able to reach and to have that volume of orders was nice to experience in terms of
how it all works and the system that we needed to put in place to deliver high quality
coffee to a strict deadline. Fortunately by the time it came to doing the Christmas box
we knew the process from doing it back in the previous summer so it was all hands
on deck and we knew exactly what was needed and expected!

The team at RISE are amazing, very welcoming and incredibly accommodating and
that made the whole experience very enjoyable and we can’t wait to get involved
again one day.
