The RISE of Coffee Advent Calendars
WOW. Did you see the RISE coffee advent Calendar! One of the top Christmas gifts of 2024 and by far our biggest selling gift product, ever! It even sold out in John Lewis and got listed as one of the best countdown calendars of the year by Good Housekeeping, Olive Magazine, Hello Magazine, Digital Spy, House Beautiful. It was also loved by Kevs coffee blog and it took over his Instagram for the month!
Advent calendars are a popular way to savour the countdown to Christmas, and what better way to do it than with a coffee calendar!? We are all bored of chocolate, right? Christmas coffee gifts have become a huge hit and so Alice and Ben wanted to come up with a fun gift for people to enjoy in the countdown to Christmas.
While this idea might sound like a dream come true for coffee lovers, you will be glad to know, that's just what it is!! With 24 windows to open each day, this will take you on a journey of discovery and have fun trying a range of coffee from Ethiopia to Colombia, and everything in between.
3 REASONS ADVENT CALENDARS ARE SO POPULAR:
1. Festive Anticipation and Excitement: Advent calendars build a sense of daily excitement in the countdown to Christmas. Each day offers a surprise, creating a festive ritual that appeals to anyone looking for something fun and entertaining. Product-based calendars enhance this by offering more substantial rewards, like luxury beauty products or artisan treats, making the experience feel indulgent and special.
2. Value for Money: Many product-based advent calendars are seen as cost-effective ways to try premium or luxury items at a fraction of their full cost. For instance, beauty calendars often include full-sized products worth significantly more than the calendar\u2019s retail price, making them a savvy choice for shoppers.
3. Nostalgia: Advent calendars tap into the nostalgia of childhood traditions while reimagining them for modern adult lifestyles. This mix of sentimentality and indulgence resonates strongly in the UK market, where Christmas traditions hold great cultural significance.
5 REASONS WHY EVERYONE LOVES THE RISE COFFEE ADVENT CALENDAR:
1. The calendar includes 24 unique coffees, freshly roasted, from over 18 different origins. All coffee has been handpicked and taste tested by Alice and Ben to ensure the calendar takes you on a journey of discovery through coffee.
2. The RISE coffee advent calendar is ground coffee which has been ground medium (omni) making it suitable for most brew methods including cafetiere, AeroPress, Filter, and Pour Over. We didn't do it as whole bean this year as many of you said in a customer survey that it was harder to use with just a days portion... however, keep your eyes peeled on this for 2025!
3. IT'S SO MUCH FUN!! The festive season is all about having some fun in the lead up to Christmas and a time to drink loads of fantastic new coffee!
4. It's just 40-60p a cup. With each pouch containing 17g of coffee enough for 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning (depending how you brew).
5. A QR code to scan and read all about the coffee, the farmers behind the bean and tips on how to best brew it.
Here's what Kev said:
"I think this is a brilliant idea from Rise, an advent calendar with 24 different pre-ground coffees to try for every day of advent! I've got one of these, so keep an eye on my YouTube shorts and Instagram from the 1st of Dec.
I have to say, I think Rise have done a brilliant job with this as a product. The box itself is brilliant, it looks and feels like a very high quality product, the print quality is great, which is obviously important if you're buying this for someone as a gift, and I think overall it's a steal for this price, and a great bit of fun in the run up to Christmas.
There's an app that works along with it too, which is really clever. You scan the QR code on the box, enter your email, and they'll alert you on the 1st of Dec to remind you to start opening your daily coffees, but you'll also be able to scan each coffee to find out all about it.
You get 17 grams in each pouch, so this is enough for a pourover brew or Aeropress for example, and it's pre-ground to a general manual brew grind size.
Yes it's fair to say that for the best results you should grind your own so you can dial in, but even if they did that and made it only for people who have a grinder, you wouldn't be able to dial in anyway with only enough for one brew, and I think this works as a way for someone to easily sample a big range of coffees"
WHAT SPECIALTY COFFEE DID WE INCLUDE IN THE CALENDAR?
You can click below to read all about the 24 coffees that we featured. To ensure the calendar was a real discovery we included over 18 origins from coffee origins such as Ethiopia, Brazil, and Colombia as well as more interesting and unique origins like Papa New Guinea, Indonesia and Tanzania. Each coffee was grown at different altitudes, used vary processing methods, and had a whole host of different tasting notes to get your taste buds tingling! We also included one decaf.
To give you an insight here was the favourites from Team RISE.
Bens Favourite:
Ethiopia Guji. We love the flavour and texture that this Heirloom coffee delivers! This coffee has a thick syrupy taste with distinctive floral, tea-like, qualities.
Alices Favourite:
Guatemala Antigua. The dark chocolate and blackberry notes shine in this cup of coffee. The dark chocolate isn't overpowering but gives the coffee a strong body. It has a really sweet after taste and a beautiful fruity aroma.
