Notting Hill, one of London’s swankiest neighbourhoods, and setting to one of the greatest Rom Coms! It was a coffee (well a spilt coffee) that sparked a romance between William Thacker (Hugh Grant) and Anna Scott (Julia Roberts). If you head into Notting Hill now, the same Portobello antique market is bustling with market traders, antique dealers and a number of the coolest coffee cafes around.

Kuro coffee is a hidden gem nestled between the pastel homes in Notting Hill Gate, London. The decor takes its inspiration from Japanese minimalism and is beautiful yet simple and cozy. The staff are super friendly, polite and welcoming. Great full bodied, fruity coffee by Ozone served here, as well as tasty pastries. If you are feeling something different, the matcha is excellent. They now also do Kuro lates where Kuro turns into a sophisticated wine bar.

An absolute favourite of Ben, our founder. The smell of freshly roasted beans engulfs you as you walk in and you will soon notice the roastery at the back of the cafe where the coffee is roasted in house. The coffee is excellent. All coffees served score above 83/100 SCA and as of July 2023 they have single origin offerings from Ethiopia, Nicaraguan, and an exciting Papa New Guinea. We had the Ethiopian which was organic and a natural processing method. This gave it an incredible chocolate bodied base that was well balance with hints of honey and blueberry coming through.
The coffee shop is a real coffee experience and one to head to if you are in the area. It is close to the station and just a short walk to The Portobello Road.

A super cool, modern, glass fronted coffee shop opposite the London Underground. The cafe is green, leafy and calming when you walk in.
Like Amoret coffee, they also roast the coffee in the cafe. This is done out the back on their stunning Giesen W6e Iron Dutch Coffee Roaster. Like RiSE coffee box they feature a coffee from around the globe each month, so if you head there often you will be able to enjoy a variety of coffee. The mission of the cafe is to “strive for quality, sustainability, and community”. The coffee of the month are bought through direct trade making them far more traceable and high quality. The Coffee Plant is a short walk from Notting Hill tube onto the famous Portobello Road market - one of Londons most renowned markets. Whilst walking along through the antique shops and food market you will find this cafe in the heart of the market. They sell hot drinks, snacks, toasted sandwiches, smoothies as well as freshly roasted coffee beans, which are roasted a couple of miles away. The cafe is a great place to learn more about the beans and where they have come from and the staff are very knowledgable about the coffee they produce.

Another favourite London cafe of ours. Australian owned and inspired cafe in Notting Hill. It’s a hidden gem tucked away in a fantastic building with a court yard taking you through to the entrance. Incredibly healthy food options, and a great brunch spot. If you are looking for the best coffee in Notting Hill this may not be the best spot but if you are meeting friends for a casual Saturday morning brunch this is for you!
