  • Whole Bean - Great if you have your own grinder or a bean-to-cup machine.
  • Ground Cafetiere - This is pre-ground and ready to go. Ideal for classic French presses or cafetieres.
  • Medium Ground - Perfect for pour over and filter coffee. Think: Chemex and V60 designs.
  • Fine Ground - Best for espresso machines or moka pots.

Whatever grind you choose, rest assured all of our coffee is of the highest quality, 100% Arabica specialty. It’s 84+ SCA scored, and is freshly roasted to order.

Coffee discovered by RiSE coffee box

Freshly roasted coffee sent to you directly from Flying Horse coffee.

THE COFFEE:

Ethiopia, Limu - single origin

Hints of: Apricot, Jamine, Nougat

Grown in: Ethiopia

Process: Washed

Varietal: Heirloom

THE ROASTERS:

Based in London, Flying Horse coffee are the only coffee producer we’ve come across whose coffee bags are made from sugar cane – a sustainable solution that is sure to become universally adopted in years to come. Very inspiring.

THE FARMERS:

Ethiopia, said to be the originator of coffee was first discovered by a farmer “Kaldi” in 850 AD!

The story goes that Kaldi first discovered coffee after he noticed his goats had eaten particluar berries and became so energetic that they did not sleep at night.
His exhilaration prompted him to bring the berries to a monk in a nearby monastery, but the monk disapproved of their use and threw them into a fire, from which an enticing aroma billowed.

The roasted beans were quickly raked from the embers, ground up, dissolved in hot water, yielding the world's first cup of coffee! Limu offers sweet, citrus and floral notes in the cup. It’s juicy, bright and keeps you holding onto that summer feeling just a little bit longer.

Coffee available in: Whole bean, Ground Medium (AeroPress / V60 / Chemex), Fine (espresso / moka pot), Ground Coarse (French Press / cafetière)
